Graduate Student Bios

Alexandra R. Rimer is an Assistant Research Professor with The Thomas Edison Papers at Rutgers University, where she specializes in documentary editing, archival research, transcription, annotation, and the preparation of scholarly editions. Trained in history and library and information science, she has extensive experience in archives, special collections, Jewish studies, and public history. Rimer is the author of Seduced by the Light: The Mina Miller Edison Story (2023) and coeditor of multiple volumes of The Papers of Thomas A. Edison, including From Laboratory to Marketplace (2025). Her work focuses on the history of technology, archival practice, social and cultural history, and the interpretation of primary sources for both scholarly and public audiences.
